Past Events …

Prison Performing Arts

Concordance sponsored a moving, private performance inside the Women’s Easter Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center. The play was titled Run-On Sentence, written by playwright, Stacie Lents, about the effect of incarceration on women and their families inside and outside of prisonBoth moving and funny, the play asks: should people be defined by our worst mistake?

Employer Symposium

Concordance officially launched its Employment Agency with an employer symposium for regional HR leaders and hiring managers. The event included a keynote from Dave Ulrich as well as an HR executive panel discussion, and attendees learned how the Academy is working to improve employability of an alternative source of talent.

Holiday Shopping Event

With the support of incredible volunteers who donated gifts and staffed our first annual Holiday Shopping event,  we were able to add a little joy to the holiday season for Academy families. With the help of donations and volunteers, our participants were able to shop for new toys for their children, at discounted prices.

Concordance Academy Ribbon Cutting

We celebrated an important milestone for Concordance Academy as we welcomed the community to our new headquarters for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Thank you to Mayor Lyda Krewson, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann, St. Louis County Director of Community Engagement Ethel Byndom, and Pi Pizzeria co-owner Chris Sommers for speaking at our event.

Concordance Gala

Thanks to the generosity of the St. Louis community, Concordance Academy raised $1 million at its third annual gala, “A Halloween Soiree,” held at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis on October 21. Randi Naughton of Fox-2/KTVI served as emcee, and guests enjoyed live music from Griffin & the Gargoyles.
