What We’re Prioritizing with COVID-19

To our incredible Concordance Academy supporters:

The Academy’s mission is always at the forefront of every decision we make, but in these unprecedented times, we have an equal obligation to the health of our participants and team members. Without them, our mission would not be possible.

Here is how we are responding:

Our People

Our participants, team members, and their families are our top priority, so we are focused on their safety and productivity during this time. While the Academy is currently open, non-participant facing team members are working from their homes. Direct service team members and participants physically at the Academy are screened daily upon arrival to test their body temperature, asses any symptoms, inquire about recent interactions with presumptive positives or generally ill individuals, use of public transportation, recent travel, etc. Upon assessment, we are using our best judgment to determine whether to allow the team member or participant to enter the building. Universal masking is required of anyone entering the Academy.

We are committed to thinking long term about our mission despite the short-term uncertainty. Should anything change with regard to our ability to utilize the Academy facility at any point, team members are equipped to quickly deploy remote programming, as well as written homework assignments taking into account participants who might have limited access to technology. These measures will help ensure to the best of our ability that participants receive levels of necessary support until normalcy can resume.

In this new, uncharted era in American history, the most vulnerable among us will inevitably bear the greatest brunt of this crisis. Your support is more crucial than ever to help us continue to support critical services. Please consider supporting us in our efforts.

As with many organizations, we are assessing the situation daily. I continue to be proud of the proactive, participant-first response and planning our team has employed to protect our work and outcomes.

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate the next few weeks and months.
